Message Clarification: the "maximum" degree of advancement is built into the VTC sprocket and cannot be changed (I think these things are amazing).

Ash, I've been looking through some of your old posts explaining the VTC. They've been very informative but given the VTC has to continuously pass through all the advance settings the answer to my question wasn't obvious. Just to be clear, when timing advance is initiated by the solenoids based on engine load (or is it just off the TPS stop), the VTC should quickly slam all the way to the opposite stop?

Have you ever heard of a VTC sprocket acting lazy or sluggish? What impact would that have on drive-ability? Thanks again.
